Nate Utesch is a composer, Grammy nominated art director and graphic artist, from Fort Wayne, IN. His work stretches across 20 years of experience and over 400 titles for artists including Weezer, The Smashing Pumpkins, Phoebe Bridgers, Sharon Van Etten, Korn, Khruangbin, and Underoath.

Nate has led the new age electronic music project, Metavari, across the edges of the genre for over a decade. The act is best known for its career defining Record Store Day titles on One Way Static Records; the synth-heavy reimagining of Fritz Lang’s ‘Metropolis,' and ‘ABSURDA,’ the pioneering collection of dark and phosphorus music for the short films of David Lynch.

In 2022, Nate and creative partner, Mark Gypson, launched a storytelling brand and gaming company called "Exqui."
